Sound Gardening in a Black Hole Sun

Today, I went to check out the Sound Garden at Seattle's NOAA facility near Magnuson Park.  As you walk beneath the towers they make a strange but rhythmic grinding sound.  It is sort of haunting and also fitting as its just before Halloween.

Space Needling

Second time being at the top of the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington.  This photo is the only one on this blog that I've taken with my Google Pixel 2.  Too good not to share.

The Betty Page House

Here we are at the Betty Page/Divine house in Seattle, Washington (my new home!).  Finally, after traveling for over a month we've arrived in Seattle and couldn't be happier.  Been exploring the neighborhoods and art pieces around the city.  More Seattle exploration to come.

C-Level Cirque de Soleil

The last hike we did in Banff was C-Level Cirque.  This hike was named after the history of mining done in the area.  The views were amazing including this panorama I pieced together here.  While parts of the photo are pretty hazy the colors of the trees are spectacular.

All This for a Tea House

This was taken while on the Plain of Six Glaciers Hike.  While both I and my girlfriend's opinion of the Lake Louise area was tepid, at best, this hike was one of the most amazing I've ever done. Not to mention there is an awesome tea house at the end of the hike you can order food and tea at.  The crowds again were insufferable but judging by these views you can see why.

Sulfur Skyline Salutations

While traveling on the way back down to the lower 48 states we made a couple of week stay of Jasper, Yoho, and Banff National Parks.  This view was from the top of the Sulfur Skyline hike in Jasper National Park.  While it looks serene and amazing, what you don't see are the hoards of people behind me.  While the sights of these parks are well worth it, the crowds are a bit obnoxious.

The Church of Bennet

This is also along the Chilkoot Trail this summer but at the very end in the ghost town of Bennet, British Columbia.  This is the last standing structure in this 100-year-old gold rush town.

Along the Chilkoot

This summer me and my girlfriend hiked the Chilkoot Trail near Skagway, Alaska and it was one of the more amazing hikes of my life.  This was the old Sawmill.  You find stuff like this all along the trail including 100-year-old shoes! This was one of the better photos I took.

Hungry Hungry Whales

While I was on an Alaskan Wildlife cruise with the Sitka Sound Slayers Roller Derby team the whales were feeding all around us.  This was during the herring fishing season so the whales were everywhere bubble feeding just like this.  This was the best photo I got of this incredible day.

Gavans Gone.

I took this photo around mid March in Sitka Alaska while hiking on Gavan Hill.  While the route was still pretty slick the views were pretty amazing to say the least.
